A rotary bell atomizer supports three installation methods: fixed mount, reciprocating machine, or robot arm. Paint is fed to the center of the high-speed rotating bell head and spread outward by centrifugal force. The bell head is electrostatically charged, transmitting high voltage up to 80 kV to the paint. On contact with the charged bell head, the paint acquires a high-voltage negative charge. Because like charges repel each other, the paint splits into smaller and more uniform particles as it leaves the bell head — until the surface tension of the coating balances the charge repulsion. The result: ultra-fine, evenly charged droplets that wrap precisely onto the grounded workpiece.
